Celanese Vamac® AEM Vamac® G Ethylene acrylic elastomers in stock

Vamac® G is a general-purpose ethylene acrylic elastomer (AEM) originally developed by DuPont and now manufactured by Celanese. It is a terpolymer of ethylene, methyl acrylate, and a cure-site monomer, cured via an amine-based vulcanization system. This gum elastomer contains a small amount of processing aid, has a specific gravity of 1.03, and features excellent storage stability.

Key Features

- Heat resistance: Continuous service up to 175°C, short-term peaks to 200°C.

- Low-temperature flexibility: Down to -35°C to -40°C.

- Fluid & chemical resistance: Resists engine oils, transmission fluids, coolants, and EV fluids.

- Environmental resistance: Outstanding ozone/weather resistance; halogen-free, low-smoke, non-toxic.

- Mechanical properties: Good compression set, flex fatigue resistance, and vibration damping.

- Processability: Suitable for injection, transfer, compression molding, and extrusion.

Typical Applications

- Automotive: Powertrain seals, gaskets, hoses, air management components, and vibration dampers.

- Wire & cable: Flame-retardant, low-smoke, halogen-free jacketing.

- Industrial: Non-halogen low-smoke flooring and general-purpose high-temperature seals.

Basic Properties (Typical)

- Mooney viscosity (ML 1+4 @100°C): Low viscosity grade.

- Hardness (Shore A): ~58–68.

- Tensile strength: ~11–17 MPa.

- Elongation at break: ~150–280%.

- 100% modulus: ~5 MPa.
